Mate Oil’s committment to sport is reflected in its support for the young Muggiese sailor Giovanni Coccoluto, Under 21 World Champion of the Laser Standard World Championships and Italian Sailing Federation’s «Verso Rio 2016» fully recognised racing team member.
With its roots set deeply in the Istrian Peninsula, at a stone’s throw from Muggia, Mate Oil’s decision to support Coccoluto was not casual, but rather a natural association with sport and a determination to pursue productions that are closely linked to nature’s cycles. Sailing is a clean sport – exercised in symbiosis with the sea and the wind, nature’s elements that also happen to determine the territory of our unique extra virgin oil. We loved the idea of combining our trasparenza marina oil with the image of the wind and the sail – so intrinsically related to the great civilization of the olive.

After having qualified as champion in Buenos Aires on April 15 of this year, Giovanni Coccoluto continued his training schedule in anticipation of further forthcoming competitions and will,of course, be sailing the Mate brand.

Mate Oil participated at the 8th edition of Identità Golose by being hosted on the stand of its distributor Jolanda de Colò, a brand from Friuli which produces haute cuisine specialty foods and which distributes prestigious Italian and international brands.

The timbro istriano extra virgin produced by Alexandra Vekić’s company Mate, boasts a majestic stamp that is rich, varied and that comes from a territory of red, fiery rocks where the salty sea breeze meets the wind of the rolling hills and where the olives are hand-picked and processed in the evening sun of the very same day. Initial flavour unfolds sweet and subsequently develops into spicy notes ending in a bitter finish. Monday 14 November 2011, at the Sala Collina, venue of Il Sole 24 ORE in Milan, Mate Oil sponsored the presentation of Il Sole 24 Ore’s 2012 Restaurant Guide, edited by food critic Davide Paolini.
Approximately 900 restaurants were reviewed, of which 190 were new entries.
